William Dawson

August 24, 1938 — August 17, 2018

After a lengthy illness, Bill Dawson passed away while in hospice care at Dolphin Cove Adult Family Home in Tokeland on August 17, 2018. Bill was born August 24, 1938, in Cleveland, Ohio, to John and Anna (Feitko) Drabowicz, Russian Ukrainian immigrants. The last of ten children he was adored and spoiled by both his parents and siblings. He was a loving, kind and gentle man. After graduating from high school in Cleveland he moved to Redondo Beach, California, where he worked at a large plant nursery while attending college. This was the start of a lifetime love of gardening and creating beautiful landscapes. During this time, he joined the US. Navy Reserve from which he received an honorable discharge in 1964. Upon graduating from college, he began his life long career as a Respiratory Therapist. He married Linda French in 1975. They would later divorce. Their only child, James Lee Dawson, was born in Vancouver, Washington. Bill would retire from the Veteran\\'s Administration Hospital in Portland, Oregon. In 2005 he married Jeri White and they settled onto her farm east of Vancouver; shortly thereafter they moved to their beach home near Ocean Park, WA. Bill & Jeri created a lovely garden together with colorful plantings and a bountiful vegetable patch. As a child he was baptized in the Russian Orthodox Church. Later in life, both he and Jeri attended Ocean Park United Methodist Church. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Jeri, his son, stepchildren and step-grandchildren, two surviving siblings, nieces and nephews â€" and his beloved companion, Bella, the dog. Memorials may be made to Pacific County Humane Society and/or Peninsula Senior Activity Center. At his request, there will be no services. The family wishes to thank Hospice Care and Dave Palmer of Dolphin Cove Adult Family Home for his kind and quality care. Arrangements are in care of Stoller’s Mortuary in Raymond.
