Stephen McEvers

January 10, 1943 — December 17, 2014

Stephen Brian McEvers, a Raymond resident, went home to be with the Lord December 17, 2014, at his home in Raymond; he was 71. Steve was born January 10, 1943 in East Los Angeles, CA to Charles and Bernice (Gehrke) McEvers. He was raised in South El Monte, CA; and was a member of the Church of God (Holiness). He loved being outside and enjoyed bugs, spiders, and rocks. He liked looking at flowers and often helped with gardening. Steve loved candy bars. Although he was mentally challenged due to a brain injury at birth, Steve exceeded all expectations of his abilities and longevity, Steve was a good natured sweet man who always told everyone how much he liked them. He moved to Willapa Harbor in 2005. Steve is survived by nieces Rosemary Netzel and husband Eugene of Hesperia, CA, Bonnie Kissner Balani and her husband John of Lebam; great niece Jennifer Reese and her husband Benny of Pomona, CA; great -great nieces Emma and Hailey Netzel of Hesperia, CA; a nephew Biran Netzel and his wife Katie, of Hesperia, CA, a brother, Dennis McEvers of Victorville, CA, and a sister Susan Kissner of Raymond, WA. Steve had many other special friends including Ramona Banuelos, and Diane Duque of Rialto, CA. The family wishes to thank all the nurses and therapists of harbor’s Home Health for everything they did for Stephen. Memorial donations in Steve’s name may be made to For Heaven’s Sake Rescue at P.O. Box 12417, Olympia, WA 98505. No memorial services will be held at this time.
