Michele Parks

April 21, 1939 — September 4, 2016

Michele (Mike) Lynn Parks (Millican) died peacefully in her home on September 4th in Raymond, Washington at the age of 77. Michele is survived by her husband Robert (Bob) Parks; children Sheldon Jackson, Lisa Friese, Shannon Stratton, and Geoff Parks; sibling Melody (Nani) Diessner; Grandchildren Shawn, Laura and Chelsi Friese, Alex Gerow, Duncan Jackson, Regyn and Rylee Gaffney, Aubri and Jadyn Jimenez, and Miles Parks; Great grandchildren Jace Gerow and Carter Friese. She is preceded in death by her father Prior (Bud) Millican, mother Jean Millican, brothers Terry Millican and Toby Millican. Michele was born on April 21, 1939 in Raymond, Washington to Prior (Bud) and Jean Millican. She graduated from Aberdeen High School in 1957. Michele has been married to her dance partner and best friend Bob Parks for the past 45 years. She taught ballet, jazz and tap with Marie Hannan for many years, finally branching out on her own with her husband to establish the very successful Parks School of Dance. In this capacity she touched many children’s lives in the Twin Harbors area. Michele brought art and culture to the area with her dance school and working with local community theaters. Michele’s creativity and innovative talents brought many original performances to the stage. Her proudest accomplishment was the piece she choreographed, “The Star†, dedicated to the tragic passing of one of her beloved students. After her dance career ended, she spent her time on her favorite hobby, gardening. Like that of everything in her life, she approached gardening with the same zest and passion for which people came to know and love her. Michele lived life to the fullest. Her engaging personality brought joy to everyone. Her legacy will live on through the number of people she touched throughout her life. Michele will truly be missed. A celebration of life is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on September 17th at the Raymond Elks. All are welcome to attend to celebrate Michele’s life. The family would like to thank the following: The Raymond Elks and lady Elks, Stoller\\'s Mortuary, Raymond Fire Department, and the community for their kind words and support.
