Michael McGovern

December 10, 1960 — June 10, 2017

Born December 10, 1960 to Richard “Dick†and Lila McGovern in South Bend, Washington; he was 56. Michael died unexpectedly at his home on June 10, 2017, following a recent stay at the hospital for respiratory complications. Mike was a lifelong South Bend resident and graduated from South Bend in 1979. He was a commercial fisherman for Muggs Petit for many years and also worked construction. He is survived by his wife Gail (Stigall) of 34 years, son Tanner, sisters Kathy Spoor (Sonny Mark), Kelly McCutchen (Mike), brothers-in-law Elroy Thompson (Joannie), Donny Thompson, Michael Stigall (Sindy), Hank Stigall, father in Law Wales Stigall, and many nieces and nephews. Mike was a devoted, loving husband and father. he is especially remembered for his easy-going nature, kind heart and selfless way of caring for many family members and friends. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, his mother-in-law Elaine Stigall, and nephew Christopher Thompson. ***Please join us to celebrate Mike\\'s Life on Sunday, July 9th at 1:00 at the home of Sonny and Kathy. Our address is 68 Gunnar Lane, South Bend, Wilson Point. The outgoing gate will be open. Park anywhere in the field, along the road or in the driveway. This has been such an incredibly difficult and sad time for us all. We look forward to sharing great memories and many, many \\\Mike\\\" stories!
