Martha Goelz

Martha Evelyn Goelz passed away on December 30, 2014 at the Willapa Harbor Care Center in Raymond, WA, she was 91 years old. Martha was born in Birmingham, Alabama and, at 18 years old, enlisted in the Navy. She was proud of being a WWII veteran, Martha taught special education in the Downey, California school system for many years. She is preceded in death by her true love, Adam Goelz. Martha moved to Washington 12 years ago with daughter Laurie Bowman and her husband Jerry. She was a resident of the Alder House where she enjoyed quilting, crocheting, bingo and making finger puppets for her grandkids. Martha is survived by her 5 children, Tom (Jayne) Goelz, Roger Goelz, Fay (Bill) Jones, Laurie (Jerry) Bowman and Cathy (Tim) Epton, 3 siblings and sister-in-law Roberta Mote, a loving friend and confidant. Martha had 13 grandkids and 10 great grandkids. At Martha\\'s request, there will be no services, In lieu of flowers; the family asks that donations be sent to the charity of your choice. The family would like to thank the Alder House for many years of wonderful support and the Willapa Harbor Care Center for their kindness and caring in Martha\\'s final days.
