Larry Clevenger

Larry Eugene Clevenger a Raymond resident, died Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at his son’s South Bend home; he was 75. Larry was born May 1, 1941 in Raymond to Elias and Beatrice (Wolford) Clevenger. He was a 1958 graduate of Raymond High School and went on to attend Humboldt State University. He worked for Grange Supply then worked 18 years in law enforcement for Raymond Police Department and Grays Harbor Sheriff’s Office, retiring in 1977. He married Roxanna (Roxie) Bellis in 1971 in Aberdeen. After 10 years, the family moved back to Raymond in 1981. She survives him at the family home. Larry was active in the youth baseball organization, coaching for several years. He also was an assistant coach for youth wrestling. Larry was a member of the Raymond Elks Lodge, serving a year in each “chair†culminate in becoming ER. He also called Bingo at the Elks for several years. Larry loved to hunt and fish and enjoyed hiking and fishing the creeks in the Willapa Harbor area. He is survived by two daughters, LaRae (Scott) Taylor of Batavia, New York and their children Jacqueline D’Angelo, Scott Karnas Jr., and Nathan Annam; Lori (Marvin) Lessell of Forks, WA; two sons, Larry (Genie) Clevenger, Jr. and their children Timothy and Jessie of Naches, WA, Shawn (Darcy) Clevenger and their children Lexi Clevenger and Levi Cookson; brothers, Jeff Clevenger of Nice, CA, Gerald Clevenger of Springfield, MO, Sean Clevenger of Sacramento, CA and Lewis Clevenger of Bullhead City, AZ and a sister Polly Conway of Sacramento, CA. Larry was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Wayne and Warren Clevenger. Memorial donations in Larry’s name may be made to HAVA PO Box 243, Raymond, WA 98577. Memorial services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2017 at New Life Fellowship Church in Raymond followed by a Potluck Luncheon.
