September 29, 1955 — March 11, 2021

Jon Carter Langbraaten was born in South Bend, on September 29, 1955. He finally won his battle with Parkinson's Disease when he died on March 11, 2021 at his home. He was 65 years old. He was born to Peter and Rosalie (Michaels) Langbraaten and lived in Raymond, WA most of his life. He graduated high school in 1975. He worked in various places, and was trained in the Job Core where he learned the forest industry. He loved working many years for the local program for the disabled, where he did janitorial services for many local businesses. He also worked at the local Dairy Queen, and as a tree planter. He took great pride in all of his jobs. Jon had an encyclopedia mind, and could remember more facts than could be remembered by most people. He especially excelled in his memory for football teams, their members and statistics going back to the beginning of football. It was absolutely amazing how may facts about how many different things he knew. He loved watching the Seahawks, Mariners, and most other sports teams. When Jon was younger, he spent a good amount of time at Hood Canal, at the family cabin, the place he loved most, even trying to walk or ride a bicycle all the way there at times. The highlight of his life was a cruise he took with his brother and sister to the Caribbean. Jon was a sweet man who loved everyone (except Trump). He had a sincere smile, always happy when anyone would stop and say hello or visit. His laugh could make anyone break out in laughter. He loved playing basketball, footfall, and baseball with the Weaver Street gang, and spent many many hours shooting baskets with his brothers and anyone who would show up. He loved reading all kinds of books with information about just about anything. He loved music, and had an extensive collection of cd's and tapes, always carrying his radio almost everywhere he went. He also loved reading his Bible and loved God with all his heart. Jon loved his family most of all. Jon is survived by two sisters. Petra (Dave) Workman, Lauren (Lloyd) Lagergren, and two brothers Jerry (Kath, and Stephen Langbraaten, and his very special friend Louise Bales. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews Michael, Shoshana, Brandon, Leah, Dani and Geri. Jon was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Deanna, and brothers David and Peter.
