John High

John N. “Bud†High, a Raymond resident, died Monday, July 17, 2017 at the Willapa Harbor Care Center in Raymond; he was 88. Bud was born March 4, 1929 in Astoria, OR to Findley and Daisy (Pinkerton) High. He served in the United States Air Force, retiring as Lieutenant Colonel. In years past, he was active in City Councils and Planning Commissions in Oregon. He married Antoinette Witt, October 7, 2000 in Camas, WA; she survives him at the family home in Raymond. Bud proudly owned and operated the Riverdale Grocery from 1982 until 2000. He was active in the Willapa Harbor Lions Club and the Willapa Harbor Food Bank. Bud is survived by his wife Antoinette of Raymond, his daughter Susan (Greg) Reiss of Valdez, Alaska, his son Jerry (Janet) High of Tuscon, AZ, two step daughters Elizabeth North of Good Year, AZ and Cordelia (Bert) Gearon of Santa Maria, CA grandchildren Aaron Reiss, Tracy Bryant, Devin Reiss, Justin High, Tony Bedell, Andrew North and Melissa Gearon; as well as 8 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother Warren High. No memorial services will be held at this time. Cremation arrangements were in care of Stoller’s Mortuary in Raymond.
