Janice Mary Pehl

March 7, 1961 — March 28, 2021

Janice Mary Pehl passed away peacefully, surrounded with love, at her home on March 28, 2021 after a hard fought battle with cancer. Janice was born on March 7, 1961 in Spokane, WA, to Katherine Demitrovich (Lambert) and Gordon Lark Lambert. She was the youngest of seven. she spent her very early years in Onion Creek and Northport, WA, and adolescence in Colville. She then moved to Raymond, WA in 1977 where she met and married her husband John Pehl on February 14, 1980. They have some been blessed with 41 full and wonderful years together. Janice started driving school bus for the Willapa Valley District in 1989. She then became a paraeducator, and combined the two professions for a 30 year career that in many ways defined her. There have been many “little ones” that she influenced in some way as children that have now came full circle to be some of her strongest supporters & cheerleaders during her struggle with cancer. She loved them all. Janice is survived by her husband, John, and daughter Erin Pehl (Dan), Stepson Jerrod (Jody) Pehl, beloved grandchildren, Kaleb, Connor, Jessie, Jerrod, and Nick, her sister Marlene Pollock (Don), and brother in law Larry Miller, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Janice loved the time spent with friends and family, and especially the good times with grandchildren, and countless hours at the ballpark. She also enjoyed travel and adventure. Who could forget Washington State history trips, or Senior Class trips. Earlier she spent many hours on her bicycle or hiking in the mountains, as well as jet boat trips and white water rafting. She also always looked forward to impromptu road trips with good friends. Janice traveled to China in 2008, where she visited the “Terracotta Warriors” the Forbidden City, and the Great Wall, among other things. Janice was equally at home in the Black Hills, on the back of a Harley on her way to Sturgis, or snorkeling with giant green turtles at a tranquil beach on Kauai, where she was truly in her element. Although gone way too soon, we all gained a piece of Janice that is full of love. She showed everyone how to live a life full of joy, pride, pleasure, and positivity, regardless of circumstance. We were truly blessed with the life of Janice Pehl…. She will be sorely missed. In lieu of flowers; donations may be made to Helping Hands.
