Howard Monohon

April 12, 1927 — March 26, 2016

Howard Joseph Monohon, a lifetime county resident died Saturday, March 26, 2016 at his home in Menlo. He was born April 12, 1927 in Raymond to Howard V. and Teresa M. (Kuttel) Monohon. He was a member of the Raymond Elks and Eagles, Teamsters Union #699, Willapa Valley Booster Club and the Lewis-Pacific Swiss Society, Howard was also a faithful member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Howard enjoyed yardwork and gardening. At a young age he began working at Monohon Dairy, and later employed as a beer truck driver for Dennis Company in Raymond. He married Marie Pehl August 27, 1949, she survives him at the family home. Also surviving Howard are a daughter Marie Wilson of The Dalles, OR, a son Bill Monohon of Menlo, three brothers Don Monohon of Raymond, Dick Monohon of Olympia and Bob Monohon of Aberdeen. He is also survived by granddaughters Lisa Wilson of The Dalles, OR, Lindsay and Marcus Denney also of The Dalles and great granddaughter Aspen Denney. Memorials in Howard’s memory may be made to the Willapa Valley High School Scholarship Fund or the St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Rosary services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 31, 2016 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 1, 2016 at the St. Lawrence Church. Burial services will follow at the Fern Hill Cemetery in Menlo. Arrangements are in care of Stoller’s Mortuary.
