Helen Scott

Helen Virginia Scott, a Raymond resident, died Saturday, March 1, 2014 at the Willapa Harbor Care Center in Raymond; she was 101. She was born August 19, 1912 in Paradise Kansas to Nichols Johnstone and Caroline Henry. Helen is survived by a sister Charlotte Jones of Raymond and many nieces and nephews who all love her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and one brother. Her family moved to Idaho in 1914, she graduated from Burley Idaho High School in 1931. Helen lived in Idaho until 1939 then went to Grau College in Long Beach, California. She worked for Smart and Final Company for ten years. Helen married Stuart Scott in 1953; married for ten years before they divorced. She went to work for Rockwell LA as a computer program analyst from 1955 until 1975; also living in Redondo Beach, CA from 1954 until 1975 and Northern California from 1975 until 1982. Helen retired at age 62. After retiring she traveled with Dorothy Collins from Boise Idaho, made many trips across the ocean once a year for 16 years. After retiring from traveling, she moved to Boise Idaho for ten years, then Twin Falls until 1992; finally moving to Raymond in 2002. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 15, 2014 at the Lebam Community Church. Arrangements are in care of Stoller’s Mortuary.
