Frances Mae Maring

Frances Mae Maring, a South Bend resident, died Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at the Willapa Harbor Hospital in South Bend. She was 90. Frances was born September 30, 1928 in Elmore City, Oklahoma to William Wayne, Sr. and Willie Ida (Hill) Collins. She was raised in Holtville, California and graduated from Holtville High School in 1947. She began her career at First National Bank of Holtville as a bank teller where she remained for three years before starting with Bank of America, retiring after 32 years as Assistant Vice President and Branch Manager. Frances married Charles “Ed” Maring in Yuma, Arizona, they moved to Willapa Harbor in October of 1988. He survives her at the family home. Together, they faithfully attended the South Bend United Methodist church where Frances was Secretary of Treasury from 2012 until present. She was a member of the Soroptimist Club as treasurer, president of the American Institute of Bankers, president of Ladies of the Moose, a member of the South Bend Garden Club as well as serving as president and past vice president for the Proplyaeum Club. Frances enjoyed her time spent water skiing and camping as well as square dancing with Ed and the local group, Peppi Pacers. She is survived by her son Charles Scott (Tina) Maring of Burnett, Texas, her daughter Teresa Ann (Larry) Snider of Puyallup, two grandchildren and four great grandchildren as well as her brother Wayne Collins, Jr. of Brawley, CA and her sisters Betty Rose Harendt of El Centro, CA and Barbara Lee McGuffie of Santee, CA. Memorial services will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are in care of Stoller’s Mortuary in Raymond.
