Esther Owens

December 8, 1924 - June 2, 2014

Esther M. Owens, better known to her friends and family as "Maxine," passed away at the age of 89, June 2, 2014. She was born December 8, 1924 and grew up in Oak Grove, OR, Nemah and South Bend, WA where she spent most of her entire life. She loved to read almost everything she could put her hands on. Family was very important to her and she enjoyed every gathering where she could visit with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her two brothers Mike and Curt, her husband for almost 60 years Emil and her son Riley. She is survived by her four daughters, Sharon (Carl) Schaeffer of Des Moines, WA, Rebecca (Neal) Knight of Hartselle, AL, Susan (Earl) Sellie of Blaine, WA and Kimberlee Mendoza of Puyallup, WA. She was blessed with seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday June 10, 2014 at Fern Hill Cemetery. Arrangements were in care of Stoller’s Mortuary in Raymond. "
