David Raeside McAllister II, passed away at the age of 89 on Friday, August 14, 2015 at his home in Menlo. He was born and raised in Paisley, Scotland. David married Elizabeth McGibbon in 1951. They emigrated to Raymond from Scotland in 1953. He was preceded in death by Elizabeth in 2011. David is survived by their three children, Lyndsey and her husband David West, David R. McAllister III, and Graham and his wife Mary McAllister. He also leaves eight grandchildren Cameron (Megan) West, Ashley (Grant) Leavitt, Brandon (Marie) McAllister, Brianne (Luke) Probasco, Jared McAllister, Stacy (Justin) Lorton, Connor McAllister, and Cameron McAllister, along with 9 great grandchildren. David also has two surviving sisters Margaret (Bob) Case and Anges Storie. David served in the British Royal Army and was stationed in India during World War II. After emigrating to Raymond, he worked as a carpenter during the construction of the Raymond Weyerhaeuser sawmill and a variety of local construction projects. He finished his professional career with Rognlin’s Inc. in Aberdeen, WA. David was a true craftsman. He built 2 homes for his family beginning the second at the age of 70 and was the driving force in the construction each of his children’s homes. He gifted his family with many pieces of hand built furniture. David enjoyed reading and watching sports of all kinds. He was loved by his family and will be missed. A private family gathering will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made in David’s memory to the Willapa Harbor Helping Hands at PO Box 597, South Bend, WA 98586.
