Darleen Weisel

Darleen F. Weisel, a longtime South Bend resident died Saturday, July 4, 2015 at the Willapa Harbor Hospital in South Bend; she was 81. Darleen was born November 9, 1933 in Aberdeen, WA to Charles Samuel and Pauline (Colwell) McMillan. She was a 1951 graduate of Weatherwax High School in Aberdeen, WA and went on to St. Peter’s School of Nursing graduating as a Registered Nurse in 1955. Darleen married Donald Weisel August 10, 1957 at the United Methodist Church in Seattle. They made their home in South Bend later that year. Don preceded her in death in 2011. Darleen was a member of the South Bend United Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by daughters Paula S. Weisel of Ketchikan, Alaska, Susie Weisel and Sam Webber of South Bend and Aimee K. (Kenny) Betrozoff of Raymond; also surviving her are two grandchildren Nicholas Don Betrozoff and Olivia Blair. Darleen was preceded in death by brothers Don, Barry and Ken (Butch) McMillan and sisters Jean Doutrich and Maribeth St. Our. Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 12, 2015 at South Bend United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the South Bend United Methodist Church or the South Bend Food Bank. Arrangements are in care of Stoller’s Mortuary in Raymond.
